An Untamed State, a novel by Haitian-American writer Roxane Gay will be made into a film starring British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw. I am thrilled to hear she will be playing such a strong role this year.
The story follows a wealthy Haitian/American vacationing in Haiti with her family, Mireille Duval Jameson is then kidnapped. Since she is the daughter of a wealthy Haitian developer who refuses to pay her ransom. She is tortured by her captors for 13 days before they release her.
Gugu has been making headlines in recent years; she has proven to be one of the best British actresses on the scene. With films like ‘Belle’ and ‘Beyond the Lights’ two of my personal favorites.
Gugu is certainly one of the actresses to watch, she is talented and graceful on screen. From television to film. She has a great personality off screen and her co-stars have said it is a pleasure to work with her. She has proven to be quite capable and can act for stage, tv and film and give a compelling performance.
And let’s not forget to mention her amazing hair! always great to see a black actress rocking her natural hair! yes she is chemical free and weave free! I love this look. Representation is key. She is a great role model for young girls to look up to.

Miss Marple (Ordeal By Innocence) Old wounds are reopened for the Argyle family when a man suddenly turns up after being abroad and claims that the black sheep of the family could not have murdered its tyrannical matriarch.
Miss Marple is invited to the wedding of a friend, but the gaieties are interrupted when a stranger arrives; he provides the missing evidence which proves that the black sheep of the family, Jacko, was wrongfully hanged for murder. This raises the question of who in the household did kill the cold-hearted mistress of the house two years previously. As usual, Miss Marple is needed to uncover the hatred, jealousy, lust etc. behind the family's facade and sort out the threads of the mystery. Written by Lone Andersen
