New Orleans courts The Whole Truth
With its highly competitive film and TV tax incentives, it’s no surprise that New Orleans has attracted several big-name features over the last few years.
The latest production to have been wooed by the US city is legal drama The Whole Truth starring Keanu Reeves, which starts filming next week. It's expected to wrap 7 August.
Reeves replaces Daniel Craig, who dropped out of the project days before filming was due to begin. Shooting had been previously slated to take place in Boston. Other cast members include Renee Zellweger, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Gabriel Basso.
The Matrix star plays a Southern lawyer who battles to save his daughter from being charged with killing his wealthy father.
Courtney Hunt is in the director’s chair; the film marks her follow-up to the Oscar-nominated debut Frozen River. Nicholas Kazan is on script duties.
It’s unknown as to why Craig left the project in the first place, however one reason could be that he’s had to clear his diary for hefty gym sessions to prepare for his next 007 outing on Bond 24, which is scheduled to shoot in the UK towards the end of the year.
