The casting on Rian Johnson's Star Wars movie continues...
Right now, the Star Wars movie universe (are we calling it that?) has a fair few balls in the air. There's this December's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, to which JJ Abrams is putting the finishing touches. Meanwhile, Gareth Edwards is currently shooting 2016's Star Wars: Rogue One.
Next after that? Looper helmer Rian Johnson is taking the megaphone for Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Thus far on the film, we've heard that Benicio del Toro is set to play a villain role in the movie. We'd assume that a fair few of the Star Wars: The Force Awakenscast will be turning up as well.
And now we learn that they'll be joined - as had been rumoured - by Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The Belle star is currently in negotiations to join the cast, although there's no firm idea as to what her role in the film will be.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - as it won't be called - is due in cinemas on May 26th 2017. More on the movie, of course, as we hear it...
