Brits to Watch Reception at Soho House

On Friday 8 July BAFTA held a reception at Soho House West Hollywood in celebration of the Brits to Watch event taking place the following evening. The event was attended by the 42 Brits to Watch along with other professionals from the film, TV and video games industries in LA.



Harry Lloyd and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have been named amongst eight young British actors of exceptional promise by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Both will join 40 filmmakers of various disciplines at an event at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, which will be attended by BAFTA’s President, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge.
Harry, who recently starred in HBO's epic fantasy series Game of Thrones, will soon be seen in Cary Fukunaga's feature film version of Jane Eyre and as the young Dennis Thatcher in the forthcoming The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher.
Having just starred alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in The Larry Crowne Affair, Gugu is currently filming a pilot in the US for Touch, in which she stars opposite Kiefer Sutherland.
The Brits to Watch list also includes the directors Gareth Edwards, known for his directorial feature debut,Monsters, and who is currently working on Godzilla for Warner Bros/Legendary Pictures, and Vicky Mather, whose animated short Stanley Pickle has won 25 international awards.
